The Mountain View company opened its first store in London Chrome

It is currently only a "discrete trial".
Google has opened a "Chrome Store" (a corner in a PC World store) at Tottenham Court Road, a shopping center in London.
A shop spread over 90 square meters only offers Chromebooks ("machines" designed and optimized for the Web ", the first models were manufactured by Samsung and Acer), headsets and other accessories. Not really to amaze people. But if success is to Make, the experience could lead to an implementation of Google Store large scale, and why not to come a little tickle and its 355 Apple stores.
"This is Google's first foray into the physical retail trade, a new channel for Google, and something with which we will play to see where it takes us," explained Arvind Desikan, head of consumer marketing at Google UK.
Risk-taking? With an unchallenged domination, Google can afford this kind of experiments. A luxury, so instead of a bet.
The giant U.S. should open new ChromeZone by Christmas 2011. The next will be inaugurated on October 7 in Essex.
