The starting gun of the iPhone 4S is accurate. Apple announced Monday that bookings for the latest generation of its iPhone had reached a record one million pre-orders in one day.
The group success over the precedent established by the iPhone 4 600 000 reservations 24 hours, the company said in a statement. The iPhone 4S, presented last week by Apple on the eve of the death of his legendary boss and co-founder Steve Jobs, should be sold on October 14 in the United States and six other countries, including France, but customers were interested in ordering from Friday.
AT & T, 200 000 reservations noon "We're blown away by the incredible customer response to the iPhone 4S," said the head of marketing in the world for the group, Philip Schiller said in the statement. "Pre-orders on the first day for iPhone 4S were higher than for any other product launched by Apple," he added.
The device features include the addition of new operators (Sprint in the U.S., KDDI in Japan).
The telephone company AT & T had announced Friday night that the launch of the latest generation of Apple's iPhone knew an unprecedented success, with over 200,000 reservations made in the United States in less than twelve hours.
This device, which has disappointed some analysts because of its similarity to the iPhone 4, released in 2010, has a processor as powerful as the iPad and a sophisticated voice command, called Siri. By late October, the iPhone will be distributed 4S in 22 additional countries.
In June 2010, Apple announced it had sold 1.7 million of its new iPhones in three days four and Steve Jobs had praised "the most successful launch in Apple's history."
